We went to Granbury. We shopped on the square, ate at an old soda shop, and went to a drive in move.
Oh yeah, we met my sister and her family there! They only live 20 minutes from us in Roanoke but we both planned to go down there separately and only days before realized we were staying at the same hotel and going to the same drive in. Fun for the kids - for sure.
After Granbury we drove down to Dublin. We went to the Dublin Dr. Pepper plant where they still make and bottle Dublin Dr. Pepper one day a week. Dublin Dr. Pepper is the best soda! It is made from pure sugar not corn syrup. Not all Dr. Pepper is Dublin Dr. Pepper. You have to make sure that the can or bottle says that it is made with Imperial Sugar. YUMMY!!!
When we left Dublin we drove up to Glen Rose and went to Dinosaur Valley. Saw the dinosaur tracks and walked by the river for a bit. Then we headed home.
A short trip but nice to get away for just a little bit.
A couple of days after getting home it was time to get back to school and work AND baseball. Yep, Dylan has decided to play baseball "one more season". It's the recreational league and he likes the game so I guess I'm glad. He learns how to be a part of a team, lose graciously and win graciously. He learns how to not take things too seriously. He learns how to try your best. Yep, there's something to be said for team sports.
Anyway...enjoy the pictures below from Spring break and Dylan's first baseball game.
I love this picture...you can see Dylan and Riley in the reflection of the window.
Classic...
Here's where you buy tickets for the tour, a drink, a Dr. Pepper float or souvenirs.
Another shot of the Dr. Pepper plant/shop.
Dinosaur tracks???
More tracks???
Oh yeah...we were a little too early for the movie so we went down the road 5 minutes and drove through a "windmill farm" that my sister found. {{giggle giggle}}
And...on the way home we drove through Arlington to take a peek at the new stadium the Cowboys will play in. Ron calls it "Jerryworld" {{giggle!}} It is HUGE. And it was sooo funny to me to see people parking across the street (like us) and looking and taking pictures.
Look at the concentration on his face. Wow!
Gosh...he seems taller and thinner than last year! (tear)
(P.S. SOOO frustrated that I keep trying to make the spacing right on this post and then when I save it - KLABOOEY...everything goes back out of whack. I GIVE UP!) {{sigh}}
